Hey Peeps!

So, I went and did some grocery shopping today in pursuit of my cooking experiments. I have heard a lot about flaxseed and its benefits so I finally bought myself a pack to take for health reasons.

Flax seed is said to have the following:

  • Omega-3 essential fatty acids, “good” fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s.
  • Lignans, which have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities. Flaxseed contains 75 to 800 times more lignans than other plant foods.
  • Fiber. Flaxseed contains both the soluble and insoluble types.

Another ingredient I had always wanted to try out is vanilla pods so here it is. Hoping to cook up something special with it.

I also bought a packet of saffron threads for flavoring biryanis and the like. They do cost a tad more than other regular spices. You can safely say it is the most expensive spice in the market.

As I am also experimenting with baking, I bought some items for decorating frostings on cakes.

I was disappointed to find that the chocolate chips packs were out of stock! 😦

I was also looking for some goats cheese which I did not find. 😦 😦

I am excited to use my gel food colors in my baking. πŸ™‚

Also, I am excited by the possibilities of using the marshmallows in my recipes!

I also bought a bunch of asparaguses. I have never tasted it so am excited to cook it!
